Technically, there are ways you can mask your IP address. However, we can still tell you're not Slowpoke.

Technically, you can't prove that its not this "Slowpoke" unless you go with the webcam or lies method.

One of the best ones is Hotspot Sheild or TOR. If you download it on a flashdrive or something or on a computer and run it, it masks the IP, but it also undoes most security measures. This could include blocked websites or monitoring devices.
--Update: I don't reccommend using this at school or work. It could get you in trouble if this program or any other masking program is found. The most reccommended is to use proxy sites for general anonymity.

TOR is actually just a proxy type deal too, just has some special features added on. I use it quite often, for stuff that would otherwise get my IP logged or banned. It's pretty good, all you have to do is hit a button on the control panel and your connection will appear to come from somewhere else.

You can try browser proxies....
Go to hidemyass.com and get an IP and Port.
Then get to your Proxy settings for whatever browser you use and do that.
